Flags on the beach
The warning flags on the beach are a visual safety system that informs bathers about the state of the sea and possible risks. Knowing their significance can save lives.
🔴 Red. High hazard. The sea is very rough, there are strong currents or extreme conditions. Bathing prohibited or is only allowed with great caution.
🟡 Yellow. Caution. The sea has moderate waves or currents. You can swim, but be careful. Ideally, stay close to the shore.
🟢 Green. Safe conditions. The sea is calm and suitable for swimming. Even so, never let your guard down.
🟣 Purple or purple. Presence of dangerous marine faunasuch as jellyfish, stingrays or poisonous fish. Be informed before entering the water.
